Tenterden Social Hub located in central Tenterden has been providing essential services to our members for over 40 years and enjoys a reputation for excellence. Daily we provide a purposeful day for adults with both physical and/or learning disabilities, the Elderly and those with the early stages of Dementia, that live in the Tenterden and Ashford District, contributing to their overall independence and well being.
We are looking for a caring individual to join our friendly team as a Support Worker and work with our staff and volunteers to help our members to:
• to provide daily activities and encourage socialisation
• help them to learn new skills and meet with different experiences
• gain access to other activities and facilities in the local community
Working under the direction and supervision of the line manager, the main duties will include:-
• Working closely with the other support staff to run the activities
• Working with the Tenterden Social Hub staff team for the well being and welfare of the members
• Maintaining a warm, friendly and caring environment
• When required transport the our members in a safe and comfortable manner between their homes and the Hub, assisted by the Passenger Assistant
• When required, assist with the delivery of meals on wheels to the local community
• Assist with serving freshly cooked meals to our members prepared by our in-house Chef
• Liaise with the Line Manager to ensure that appropriate standards of care are maintained
• Ensure that all safety, security, fire systems and procedures are followed in line with Health & Safety regulations.

Our transport fleet is vitally important to transport our members safely to and from their homes. This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check
Working with our friendly team, the main tasks will be to:
• Use our vehicles to transport the service users in a safe and comfortable manner between their homes and the Hub, assisted by the Passenger Assistant, according to the daily pick-up list
• To be responsible for safely and efficiently operating the minibus equipment e.g. tail lift operation and clamping of wheelchairs
• To be responsible for supervising the safe transportation of service users’ personal property including wheelchairs, bags, coats etc.
• To be responsible for carrying out daily routine vehicle checks and completing the necessary Driver Checklist, records/log sheets on the minibus operation as required

The role of the Domestic Helper is to provide a high quality service in the Community to the people who are supported by the organisation. You should possess a friendly and caring personality and demonstrate good organisation skills. This position requires that you are a care owner and a mileage allowance will be provided.
Main Duties will include;
• Domestic tasks as required such as washing up, tidying, cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, washing floors, bathrooms and kitchens
• Laundry, ironing and making beds
• Taking clients to appointments, shopping and outings
• Any other reasonable domestic tasks within the post holder’s knowledge and skills that will assist the client
• The role does not include personal care
The responsibilities will include:
• To undertake a range of allocated tasks to an agreed standard as directed by your Team Leader
• To establish a good relationship with the clients, their carers and their family, where applicable
• To assist in monitoring clients’ needs and report to the Team Leader any changes in clients’ independence or health, mental or physical well being
• To maintain confidentiality of all clients and adhere to GDPR regulations
• Ensure that all safety, security, fire systems and procedures are followed in line with Health & Safety regulations

We are looking for a friendly and reliable cleaner to work 8 hours per week (2 hours a day, 4 days a week).
The main duties will be:
• To keep the office, rooms, toilets and bathrooms at the Hub in a clean and hygienic condition
• To undertake other cleaning duties including periodic spring cleaning as requested by the Manager
• To carry out cleaning of floors, walls, furniture and equipment in entrances, corridors, members rooms, offices and toilets
• Maintain cleaning equipment and obtain cleaning materials necessary to carry out cleaning duties
Principle Activities
• To mop, scrub, vacuum or polish all floors according to floor type
• Wash and wipe down walls, mirrors and disinfect working surfaces where required
• Clean and disinfect furniture, including tables and chairs
• To empty waste paper bins, recycling bins and ensure dustbins are emptied
• To undertake extra cleaning duties that may be requested by the Manager such as periodic spring cleaning e.g. light fittings etc.
• To clean and disinfect toilets and sinks
• Replace disposable towels and toilet paper as required
• Report to the Manager any breakages, accidents, defective cleaning equipment
• To open and close the building as may be required
• When closing the building, ensure all doors and fire exits are secure and all services are switched off as necessary
• Assist in other light duties as required by the Administrative Support Manager
